"Throughout the day and into the night, we have been monitoring severe weather in much of the state. Our first responders have done a tremendous job helping people in areas affected by the storms.
In particular, we have seen communities in the Tennessee Valley that have suffered severe damage. Some of the same places we visited in the days following April 27 have been hit once again.
We are in the process of compiling damage assessments, and we will use all resources available to help communities in any way we can. The worst of the weather brings out the best in our people. While recovering from another round of storms will be difficult, I am confident in the strength of our communities.
I also want to offer prayers for people in Kentucky, Indiana, and other states that have been in the paths of the storms today. The people of Alabama stand with you during a difficult time."
